This Cookie Policy explains how PartyKook (“PartyKook”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on partykook.com. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly what personal information we collect and why.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things between pages and between visits — such as what’s in your cart, whether you’re logged in, or which choices you’ve already made.
We also use a few related technologies that work the same way and are covered by this policy:
- Local storage and session storage — browser storage used by our page builder and shop for things like recently viewed items.
- Pixels and tracking scripts — tiny bits of code (sometimes a 1×1 image) from services like Pinterest or Google that tell us an action happened, such as a page view or a purchase.
Wherever this policy says “cookies”, it means all of the above.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for four purposes:
- To run the shop. Keeping your cart intact, processing checkout, delivering your instant downloads, and keeping the site secure.
- To remember your preferences. So the site behaves the way you left it, and embedded content such as videos works.
- To understand what’s working. Aggregate statistics about which mystery kits and pages people look at, so we can improve them.
- To market our party kits. Measuring whether our ads work and showing PartyKook to people who are likely to enjoy it.
The first purpose is essential and always active. The other three are optional: our consent banner lets you switch each of them on or off individually and records your choice. We are completing the technical work so that scripts in those categories are held back until you allow them; until that is finished, please also use the browser controls and per-service opt-outs in Section 6.
3. Cookie categories
Strictly necessary — always on
These are required for the site to function. Without them you couldn’t add a kit to your cart, check out, or download your files. They cannot be switched off, and they don’t track you across other websites.
Functional — optional
These remember your settings and enable enhanced features and embedded content. If you turn these off, the site still works, but some conveniences and embeds may not.
Analytics — optional
These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they drop off. The data is aggregated and used to improve the site. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled.
Marketing — optional
These measure the performance of our advertising and allow us and our partners to show you PartyKook products on other platforms. Under some US state privacy laws, this kind of use may be considered “sharing” or “selling” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Turning this category off in our cookie banner is how you opt out.

5. Third parties who set cookies through our site
We don’t control how these companies use the data they collect. Their own policies apply:
- Google (Analytics 4, Ads, Tag Manager) — Privacy Policy · How Google uses data from partner sites
- Pinterest — Privacy Policy · Cookie Policy
- Klaviyo — Privacy Policy
- Stripe (payments) — sets strictly necessary and fraud-prevention cookies such as
__stripe_midand__stripe_sidat checkout. Privacy Policy
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US / UK–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified.
6. How to change your choices
On our site. Open the consent banner again from the Manage Consent tab shown on every page, toggle any category, and save. Changes take effect immediately. Your choice is remembered for about six months, after which we ask again.
In your browser. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the cart and checkout.
Opt out of specific services.
- Google Analytics: browser opt-out add-on
- Google ads personalisation: adssettings.google.com
- Pinterest: personalisation settings
- Industry opt-outs: YourAdChoices (US) · Your Online Choices (EU/UK)
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising, in the US states where that is required. We do not currently respond to the older “Do Not Track” header, which has no agreed standard.
7. Your rights by region
European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland. We ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies and record your choice. We are completing the technical work so that these scripts are held back until you agree; in the meantime, email info@partykook.com and we will apply your preference. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can withdraw consent at any time from the Manage Consent tab shown on every page. You also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Canada (including Quebec, Law 25). We request opt-in consent for non-essential technologies and provide plain-language information about their purpose before you decide.
United States. Depending on your state (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana and others), you may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of your personal information, to know what we collect, to delete it, and to appeal a refused request. Turning off the Marketing category in our cookie banner exercises the opt-out, as does enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Brazil (LGPD) and other jurisdictions. Where local law requires prior consent for non-essential cookies, our banner requests it before those cookies are set.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we add or remove a tool that uses cookies. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will ask for your consent again.
